Job Description
Batesville is a recognized leader in the death care industry across North America, committed to helping families honor the lives of their loved ones with dignity and respect. With a legacy of excellence and innovation, Batesville operates in a field that requires sensitivity, professionalism, and a commitment to service at every level. As a company, Batesville fosters a culture that values its employees as part of a family, emphasizing dedication to customers, a passion for the company's mission, and a positive future outlook. The company is also committed to fostering diversity and inclusion, recognizing the unique strengths each individual brings to the team.
At Batesville, we understand that every role contributes to the overall mission of supporting families during meaningful moments. We promote personal and professional development starting from day one, offering onboarding programs such as Experience Batesville, ongoing educational opportunities through Batesville University, and encouraging employees to create Individual Development Plans to support career growth and skill enhancement. Beyond professional duties, Batesville believes in creating an enjoyable and engaging work environment through various activities and a culture that values both hard work and fun. Community engagement and giving back are also core values, reflected in our support for fundraising initiatives and volunteer programs, although availability may vary by location.
We are currently seeking a part-time Local Delivery Driver (Non-CDL) for our location in Corpus Christi, TX. This role is essential in maintaining the smooth delivery of funeral caskets and related products to customer locations. The Delivery Driver is responsible for operating commercial motor vehicles such as straight trucks and vans in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Safety and courtesy are paramount, as are efficiency and professionalism in handling the delivery and unloading process.
The position offers an hourly wage of $18.31 and a flexible part-time schedule, ideal for those seeking balance and opportunity within a respected company. As a Delivery Driver, you will play a critical role in customer satisfaction, nurturing relationships with customers while ensuring all operations meet established standards, including DOT regulations, health and safety protocols, vehicle maintenance, and company policies. The role also demands strict adherence to safety standards and vehicle inspections, with additional responsibilities assigned as needed.
This position requires a minimum of three years of commercial truck driving experience, a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a vehicle road test and DOT physicals. The physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, requiring good overall fitness and vision. The company values strong communication skills, reliability, safety-consciousness, and a flexible approach to scheduling to meet customer demands, including working shifts and weekends.
Joining Batesville means becoming part of a dedicated team that prioritizes both the well-being of families we serve and the growth and satisfaction of our associates. If you are a dependable driver with a positive attitude who thrives in a customer-focused, safety-driven environment, this opportunity is for you.
