We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Delivery Driver to join the Performance Foodservice team. This critical role involves delivering food and food-related products safely and efficiently to customers while embodying the company’s values, represents our commitment to excellent customer service. The position offers competitive pay of $400 per day and a stable schedule with early morning starts Monday through Saturday, working four to five days a week. Routes are primarily local with occasional overnight assignments, offering variety and the chance to grow within a supportive work environment.

As a CDL-A Delivery Driver, you will operate tractor trailers or straight trucks for intrastate and interstate deliveries. The role requires adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Delivery drivers are the face of our company as they interact directly with customers, vendors, and co-workers, fostering professional relationships and representing Performance Foodservice’s reputation and commitment.

In addition to on-the-road responsibilities, drivers perform essential vehicle inspections, count and verify freight, manage paperwork accurately, and handle the unloading and securing of products at delivery locations. They are expected to maintain the cleanliness and safety of their vehicle and loading dock area, demonstrate good communication skills, and be willing to collaborate as part of a team. Drivers undergo safety training and are expected to comply fully with all safety policies and regulations to promote a secure working environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Age 21 or older
  • Meet state licensing and certification requirements
  • Clean motor vehicle record for past 3 years
  • Pass drug test and background checks
  • Pass road test
  • Valid or attainable DOT health card
  • Ability to lift and move products ranging from 10 to 90 pounds using equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Current or attainable DOT health card
  • Ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move product cases
  • Preferred: 1+ years foodservice distribution experience

Job Duties

  • Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally
  • Functions as a team member within the department and organization
  • Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections
  • Reports safety hazards, issues, or repairs required
  • Follows DOT regulations and company safe driving policies
  • Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
  • Loads and unloads products, secures freight, and completes necessary paperwork
