The position available is for a Delivery Driver based in Augusta, GA, offering a competitive pay rate of $20.54 per hour. This role requires working from Sunday to Thursday, starting with dispatch between 3:00 to 6:00 am and continuing until all delivery cases are completed. The driver’s pay structure is composed of an hourly wage along with additional pay components and incentives designed to reward performance and dedication. The Delivery Driver plays a crucial role in the supply chain by safely transporting foodservice products to customers, meeting delivery schedules, and maintaining the integrity and quality of goods during transit.

As a Delivery Driver at US Foods, you will be responsible for operating trucks safely and efficiently, ensuring products are carefully unloaded using equipment such as two-wheelers or pallet jacks, and placing orders in designated storage areas within customer premises. Your interaction with customers will be key; verifying delivery accuracy, obtaining proper signatures, and managing collections or payments when necessary are essential duties in delivering excellent customer service. The role also includes performing all required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment to ensure safety and vehicle readiness.

Physical demands must be met, including the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull between 20 to 80+ pounds repetitively throughout shifts, and working under varying weather conditions with frequent stops. A valid CDL Class A license with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications is required, alongside compliance with FMCSA Clearinghouse registration rules. Preference is given to candidates who can operate manual transmission vehicles and possess experience in food or beverage delivery, though commercial driving experience from other industries is also considered.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English
  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 20 to 80+ lbs repetitively
  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather with frequent stops

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
