Job Description

US Foods is one of the largest foodservice distributors in the United States, renowned for its extensive product offerings and commitment to customer satisfaction. With a robust infrastructure that supports thousands of customers nationwide, US Foods plays a crucial role in supplying foodservice establishments such as restaurants, healthcare facilities, hospitality businesses, and educational institutions. The company is recognized not only for its wide assortment of quality food products but also for its dedication to fostering a supportive culture that promotes career growth and continuous improvement among its employees. US Foods places great emphasis on safety, reliability, and consistent service excellence, making it a trusted partner in the foodservice industry.

The Delivery Driver role at US Foods is a vital position that ensures the timely and accurate delivery of food products to customers while upholding the company’s strong safety culture. Starting hourly pay is competitive, beginning at $30.00 an hour, with eligibility for overtime pay after 40 hours. Drivers typically work Monday through Saturday with early morning dispatch times between 3 AM and 6 AM, contributing to a schedule that offers opportunities for a four-day workweek under certain circumstances. This role includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance, and more, alongside excellent local leadership and a strong sense of community within the workplace.

As a US Foods Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating trucks, unloading products efficiently using equipment like pallet jacks or two-wheelers, and verifying deliveries by obtaining customer signatures. This role demands professionalism in customer interactions, including the handling of payments or collections when necessary. Drivers will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety and maintain compliance with Department of Transportation regulations. Given the physical nature of the job, drivers must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy products repeatedly during their shifts, along with maintaining composure when driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops.

Candidates must be registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, be at least 21 years old, and possess a valid CDL Class A license with the necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications. A minimum of six months of commercial driving experience is required, though three months specifically in food or beverage delivery experience is acceptable. Preference is given to those who can operate manual transmission vehicles, which may be required depending on the location. Strong English communication skills are essential to ensure understanding of traffic regulations and effective interaction with customers and authorities.

US Foods fosters an inclusive environment grounded in cultural beliefs that promote integrity, collaboration, and service excellence. Drivers are recognized as key representatives of the brand and are supported through excellent training programs, a commitment to safety, and advancement opportunities from within. If you are a dedicated, forward-thinking professional seeking a dynamic career in the foodservice distribution industry, US Foods offers a rewarding path that respects and rewards your dedication through competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
