Job Description

The Common Market Southeast is a mission-driven distributor committed to promoting local foods and supporting regional farmers. Operating out of East Point, this company plays a vital role in connecting consumers with fresh, locally sourced farm products. With a focus on quality, community impact, and sustainability, The Common Market Southeast has established itself as a trusted supplier across several states including Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and North Carolina. As a socially responsible organization, it prioritizes food safety, customer service, and environmental stewardship. This ensures that customers receive fresh products while supporting local agriculture and reducing the environmental footprint of food distribution.

The company is currently seeking a dedicated Delivery Driver to join their team. This is a full-time local driving position offering 35-45 hours per week and the opportunity to be home every night, ideal for candidates who value work-life balance. The role promises a competitive hourly wage of $22.00 along with an attractive Safe Driving Bonus incentive of up to $4,000 annually. Hired drivers will operate refrigerated trucks sized between 20 to 24 feet, responsible for the safe and timely delivery and pickup of local farm products within the Southeast. The role requires individuals who can provide excellent customer service, handle delivery paperwork accurately, and maintain the quality and safety of food items during transport.

The Delivery Driver’s responsibilities are comprehensive and varied. They include managing Farmer Purchase Orders and Customer Invoices, performing manual loading and unloading tasks, adhering to strict food safety and quality standards, and maintaining detailed truck logs. The position also requires proactive communication with The Common Market Southeast’s office regarding all pickups, deliveries, and any service-related concerns. Drivers must be skilled in operating and maintaining their assigned vehicles and equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.

Ideal candidates will have at least one year of driving experience, with preference given to those who have experience in wholesale food delivery or similar roles. Although a CDL A or B certification is preferred, non-CDL drivers with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply. Successful candidates must demonstrate excellent driving records and pass child abuse clearances, reflecting the company’s commitment to safety and integrity. Physical stamina is necessary as the role involves lifting and pulling weights up to 55 pounds. Strong communication skills in English, flexibility, and a positive attitude are important for this role.

The Common Market Southeast offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee well-being and professional growth. Benefits include group medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement plan with a 100% company match up to 3% of annual pay, paid time off including six sick days, and a vacation accrual system. Additionally, drivers receive a $100 annual allowance for work boots. This opportunity represents a reliable career path in a meaningful industry that values local food systems and community development, making it an excellent match for individuals seeking stability and purpose in their work.
