The Day Program Support Staff position involves a dynamic and rewarding role with direct interaction with participants. The staff coach and support people with intellectual disabilities both at the centers and within the community by facilitating activities, supporting employment, enabling community integration, and providing transportation. Responsibilities include planning and implementing life enrichment and recreational activities that encourage participant engagement and growth, often incorporating staff members' diverse talents and interests. Employment support is a key aspect, where staff provide individualized job coaching and training to help participants succeed in competitive or volunteer community roles.

Community integration is another vital component, as staff help participants safely access and engage in recreational and cultural experiences, supported by transportation services operated with company vehicles. A critical part of the role is delivering support plans specifically designed by designated coordinators, ensuring that positive support strategies are implemented in line with individualized goals and objectives. Staff also perform essential health, medical, and personal care activities as specified by individual protocols while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

Support staff with relevant degrees and experience may advance to roles such as Designated Coordinator, which comes with increased responsibilities and compensation. This role offers a structured schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with no evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts, supporting a healthy work-life balance. The pay range is $20.00 to $21.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees' well-being and security.
