Job Description
FCS Services is a well-established nationwide janitorial and facilities management company with operations spanning over 10 states. Renowned for delivering high-quality cleaning and maintenance solutions, FCS Services has built a reputation for dependability and excellence in facility management. The company prides itself on assembling a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to maintaining cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency across a variety of sites. FCS Services places a strong emphasis on fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where employees can thrive and contribute meaningfully to organizational success. They are known for offering stable and consistent employment opportunities within the facility services sector.
The current opportunity is for a full-time Porter position at the Lime Parking Garage located at Disney Springs in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. This stable and consistent role is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., presenting a daytime work schedule that supports a healthy work-life balance. The position offers competitive compensation at a rate of $15.00 per hour. As a Porter, you will be an essential member of the team responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of this high-traffic parking garage operated by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD). This role requires a reliable and detail-oriented individual who takes pride in providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
Daily responsibilities include operating a Gator vehicle to navigate multiple floors of the garage to collect trash from various locations, including floors, walls, and structural columns. You will be tasked with emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste appropriately, ensuring all public areas such as restrooms, counters, door handles, and fixtures are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Maintaining the appearance of surfaces, windows, handrails, safety equipment like fire extinguishers, and emergency phone boxes is essential to providing a clean and safe environment for visitors.
Additionally, the Porter will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining specialized equipment such as parking pay stations, elevators, and escalators. Floor care duties include sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming throughout all garage areas including parking spots, entryways, and stairwells. Regular patrolling of the garage premises to collect litter and debris, monitoring designated smoking areas for compliance, and responding swiftly to spills or accidents to mitigate hazards form key aspects of the role.
An important component of this position is providing courteous assistance and directions to guests, adding a layer of guest interaction to the maintenance work. Adherence to safety protocols, the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe handling of cleaning chemicals and tools are mandatory to ensure a safe working environment. The role requires physical stamina to be on your feet and actively moving throughout the shift, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
The work environment at the Lime Parking Garage involves primarily indoor duties with some outdoor maintenance tasks exposed to weather conditions typical of Florida. Staff may encounter dust, fumes, vehicle exhaust, and various cleaning chemicals, necessitating careful adherence to safety standards. A valid driver’s license is required for operating the Gator vehicle, and all candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment background check before starting.
