The Day Porter role at ABM is designed for individuals entering or re-entering the workforce with limited experience and education, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking for steady daytime employment. This position involves maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout business hours, primarily focusing on high-traffic areas. The Day Porter will be responsible for responding to immediate cleaning needs and ensuring that restrooms, common spaces, lobbies, entryways, and breakrooms remain presentable and hygienic all day long. Scheduled from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, this position offers an hourly wage of $19.50, with specific offers varying according to experience, skills, geographic location, and market factors.

Key duties include routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting, as well as monitored restocking of restroom supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, and soap. The Day Porter will manage spills, fingerprints, smudges, and debris as necessary, empty trash and recycling receptacles, and wipe down high-touch surfaces including door handles, elevator buttons, and railings. This role also involves setting up or breaking down rooms for meetings and events as requested, promptly reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards, and adhering strictly to established safety procedures and cleaning protocols. A critical part of the role is providing courteous and professional customer service to staff and visitors, representing ABM’s commitment to excellence and hospitality. This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry weights up to 25-50 pounds, and perform bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching as necessary.
