Job Description

PrideStaff is a respected staffing agency well-known for connecting enthusiastic and dependable individuals with dynamic and meaningful work opportunities. With a strong presence in San Diego, PrideStaff plays a key role in staffing large-scale public events and various industries throughout the region. Their commitment to client satisfaction and employee support makes them a trusted partner for both job seekers and employers. As a staffing partner for Comic-Con 2026, PrideStaff invites temporary workers to become part of this iconic and widely celebrated event held annually at the San Diego Convention Center, one of the nation’s largest and most notable event venues. Comic-Con is an internationally recognized pop culture convention that attracts tens of thousands of attendees, featuring a range of exhibits, panels, celebrity appearances, and interactive experiences.

The Day Porter position at Comic-Con 2026 offers a valuable temporary role for individuals who are energetic, observant, and customer-service oriented. Scheduled across two shifts—1st shift from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM and 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM—this role ensures the cleanliness and safety of the convention center throughout the multi-day event running from Wednesday, July 22 to Sunday, July 26, 2026. Orientation and training for this role take place on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Offering hourly pay ranging between $20.00 and $21.95, this opportunity is designed for individuals seeking short-term employment with competitive compensation and the chance to be involved in one of San Diego’s largest and most beloved public events.

This Day Porter role requires maintaining clean and clear floors, emptying trash and recycling, and ensuring exhibit halls and public areas remain safe and presentable. Apart from maintaining cleanliness, porters also assist attendees with basic questions and directions, contributing to the smooth and welcoming atmosphere of the event. The ideal candidate possesses previous custodial, janitorial, or hospitality-related experience and thrives in busy, high-traffic environments while working well both independently and as part of a team. Physical endurance to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds in crowded, dynamic conditions is also necessary.

In addition to gaining valuable experience, successful candidates will enjoy benefits including the pride of participating in an iconic San Diego experience, a supportive team atmosphere, short-term scheduling with weekly pay, and a unique vantage point into the workings of one of the largest pop culture conventions in the world. PrideStaff also supports the diversity and inclusivity of its workforce by offering reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities, making this opportunity accessible to a broad array of applicants.

This role is a great fit for motivated individuals who appreciate teamwork, reliability, and being part of a large-scale event environment. Day Porters will wear their own black pants (no leggings) and black or dark brown closed-toe shoes, while PrideStaff will provide an official event t-shirt during orientation. This role is a perfect stepping stone for those looking to build event experience, develop communication skills, and contribute to a fun and dynamic public event, all while earning competitive hourly wages in a short-term employment position at San Diego’s premier convention venue.
