Job Description
FedEx Logistics is a prominent player in the global logistics and shipping industry, providing comprehensive freight forwarding and customs brokerage services. As part of one of the world’s most trusted brands, FedEx Logistics specializes in facilitating the smooth import and export of goods across international borders. They serve businesses of all sizes, offering tailored solutions that encompass international ocean and air freight forwarding, surface transportation, trade and customs advisory, and advanced e-commerce trade facilitation. Their expertise enables companies to navigate the complexities of global trade and ensure timely delivery of shipments.
This position is an entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in customs brokerage and import documentation within the logistics sector. The role involves coordination and management of all documentation required by U.S. Customs and various government agencies for the entry of goods into the United States on behalf of importers. Employees in this role will engage with multiple stakeholders including customers, carriers, brokers, and government agencies to provide efficient and accurate import processing. Typical duties include data entry, classification of goods for customs release, maintaining shipment records, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
Working for FedEx Logistics offers employees the chance to develop a valuable skill set in import customs processes without prior industry experience. The company provides paid training to support employee growth and expects individuals to handle high volumes of time-sensitive work with minimal supervision. The role encourages interaction across various departments and levels of management, providing a dynamic and collaborative work environment. This position is primarily remote within the U.S., with exceptions for Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories; however, employees living within a 50-mile radius of a FedEx location may be required to work onsite several times per week.
The schedule for this role is unique, operating Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM Pacific Time, equivalent to 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM Eastern Time. The compensation is competitive, with a typical starting rate of $24.91 per hour, reflecting FedEx’s commitment to offering fair pay aligned with local market conditions and individual experience. Beyond salary, employees become part of a company that values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity employment. FedEx Logistics respects privacy laws and fair hiring practices, including consideration for qualified applicants with criminal histories as mandated by various local ordinances.
This role is ideal for responsible, detail-oriented individuals with strong communication and organizational skills who want to start or grow their career in logistics and customs brokerage. Responsibilities emphasize accuracy, collaborative problem-solving, and the capacity to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively. FedEx Logistics promotes a culture of continuous learning and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, fostering a safe and supportive workplace environment. Joining FedEx Logistics means becoming part of a globally recognized brand that helps businesses connect with markets worldwide reliably and efficiently.
