The role of Patient Access Customer Service Representative is central to the hospital's commitment to outstanding patient experience. This on-site position, based in Austin, TX, is a vital link between patients and the healthcare system, offering the first point of contact during outpatient visits. The role operates Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, focusing on concierge and tablet support within outpatient services. As a Patient Access Representative, you will provide compassionate, efficient, and accurate patient registration and service, creating a welcoming atmosphere that eases patient anxiety and supports seamless care delivery. Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients and families with the check-in process
  • work across multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
  • answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • support timely access to care by minimizing delays in registration and answering questions with confidence, clarity, and compassion
  • build trust with patients during moments when they may be ill, anxious, confused, or overwhelmed
  • navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays, and provide cost estimates when applicable
  • collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow
