The company prides itself on being more than just a convenience store; it is a community cornerstone that fosters a positive and inclusive culture among its employees and customers alike. Wawa operates with a strong commitment to its associates, who are considered the secret ingredient to its success. As associate owners, team members at Wawa benefit from an environment where collaboration, respect, and customer satisfaction take center stage. The company embraces continuous learning and growth, offering various opportunities that help employees develop new skills and advance their careers in a supportive setting. Wawa's core values emphasize putting people first, doing the right thing, and brightening the day of every customer who walks through its doors. This makes Wawa not just a place to shop, but a place to work where associates can be proud of their contributions and growth.
The role of a Customer Service Associate (CSA) at Wawa is vital in delivering this outstanding customer experience. As the friendly face of the store, the CSA is responsible for greeting and engaging with customers in a courteous and efficient manner. This role involves multitasking in a fast-paced environment to ensure customer needs are met promptly, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere that Wawa is known for. In addition to excellent interpersonal skills, the CSA prepares a variety of food items, such as breakfast dishes, customized sandwiches, specialty beverages, and pizzas, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization within the coffee station and food preparation areas. Handling the cash register, managing payments, activating fuel and gift cards, and assisting with age-restricted product verifications like lottery tickets or IDs are also essential tasks. Furthermore, Customer Service Associates help keep the store well-stocked, organized, and clean, ensuring shelves are attractive and inviting to customers. They also follow all safety policies and procedures diligently, taking part in store housekeeping duties such as cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and garbage disposal.
This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $15.50 to $19.25, depending on experience, position, and location, with an additional $1.50 shift differential for hours worked between midnight and 6 a.m. The role provides numerous inclusive and meaningful benefits designed to support associates financially, physically, and emotionally. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and mental health coverage, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), 401(k) retirement plans with matching contributions, an Education Assistance Program, paid parental leave, store discounts, paid time off, flexible schedules, and access to wellness programs. Wawa promotes equal opportunity employment, fostering a work environment free from discrimination and respectful of diversity. The company also offers reasonable accommodations for applicants who require assistance throughout the hiring process.
