The role of Porter at AEG is pivotal in maintaining the pristine condition and overall functionality of the venue. This part-time position offers a competitive pay rate of $20.00 per hour and is integral to the seamless execution of events by ensuring top-notch cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards across various areas including the main floor, mezzanine, backstage, bathrooms, and bars. The Porter supports day-to-day building upkeep through basic maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs, performing light construction and painting, and restocking cleaning supplies. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and addressing facility needs, contributing significantly to the guest experience and operational efficiency.

Porters work closely with Supervisors and Event Managers to complete assigned tasks within established guidelines and deadlines. The role demands physical stamina to stand for extended periods and the ability to lift furniture and equipment as necessary. Flexibility is essential, with shifts covering nights, weekends, and holidays to align with the event schedule. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalency
  • 1-2 years of related work experience
  • Reliable, punctual, and regular in attendance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and work well with others
  • Able to stand for extended periods (4-6 hours per shift) and lift tables, chairs, etc.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Employee must use precautions and follow safety guidelines

Job Duties

  • Post event cleaning including sweeping, mopping, emptying trash cans and replacing liners, wiping down surface areas, cleaning up spills and fluids, ensuring general cleanliness and quality standards are met before the next event arrives
  • Perform maintenance as needed including changing lightbulbs, painting, light construction, repair, and more as assigned
  • Restock and reorder cleaning supplies as needed, manifest and report large scale repair needs
  • Complete all assigned tasks within guidelines and deadlines set by Supervisors and Event Manager
  • Inspect assigned work area before and during events for safety hazards, facility issues, housekeeping needs, personal injuries
  • Report issues to Supervisor or Event Manager
