Job Description
Delaware North Sportservice is a renowned hospitality provider known for delivering exceptional food, beverage, and retail services across a wide range of venues, including sports arenas, national parks, casinos, and more. Established over 100 years ago, Delaware North is a family-owned company with a global legacy that emphasizes professional growth, inclusivity, and workplace satisfaction. At Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, Delaware North serves as the exclusive food, beverage, and retail partner, a prestigious role at a premier 20,000-seat multi-purpose venue that hosts the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings and the NBA’s Detroit Pistons. This arena features a diverse range of dining experiences ranging from concessions to premium club areas, loge boxes, and suites, providing a vibrant and dynamic environment requiring top-tier culinary and service standards.
Delaware North is currently seeking a part-time Culinary Supervisor to join the team at Little Caesars Arena. This role is ideal for experienced cooks who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and who have a passion for culinary excellence and superior food service. As a Culinary Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that food preparation and production meet high-quality standards while managing kitchen operations effectively. The position offers an hourly wage of $18.00 to $25.00 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support both your personal and professional well-being, reflecting Delaware North’s commitment to employee satisfaction and development.
In this role, you will oversee kitchen staff, supervise food preparation, and ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of walk-ins, freezers, and kitchen equipment. Your responsibilities are key to maintaining food safety, quality, and cost control, while also enhancing the guest experience through effective team collaboration and excellent service delivery. The role demands a proactive approach to leadership in a dynamic environment, with duties including monitoring food breakdown, rotation, labeling, and storage. You will also be expected to perform opening, closing, and side work duties, actively manage food costs, and work closely with restaurant managers and team members to exceed guest expectations.
Delaware North values individuals who have supervisory experience in a kitchen setting, capable of effectively communicating and leading within a high-energy environment. Attention to detail and basic math skills to understand and follow recipe measurements are essential. The physical demands of the role require manual dexterity for food preparation, the ability to lift heavy pans up to 50 pounds, and stand or walk for extended periods during shifts that may include evenings, holidays, and varied days.
Working at Delaware North means being part of a supportive company culture that offers flexible schedules, training and development opportunities, employee discounts, and eligibility for health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a company match, paid vacation and holidays, parental bonding leave, employee assistance programs, and tuition or professional certification reimbursement.
Joining Delaware North at Little Caesars Arena is an opportunity to be part of a legendary brand in hospitality, providing memorable game day experiences while growing your culinary career in a world-class venue. This position not only offers competitive pay and benefits but also the chance to work in an exciting sports and entertainment setting where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to shine.
