Known for its dedication to creating better environments, Sodexo fosters an inclusive culture which respects diversity and encourages employees to be themselves while contributing their ideas. The company strongly values fairness, respect, and belonging, making it an employer of choice for those seeking a supportive and collaborative workplace. Sodexo offers equal employment opportunities and prides itself on the positive impact it makes socially, economically, and environmentally in the communities where it operates.
The role of Culinary Supervisor at Sodexo, based at Liberty University, is a full-time position with a pay range of $21.67 to $29.25 per hour. This role is designed for experienced culinary professionals who are passionate about leading and supervising kitchen operations in a fast-paced and diverse food service environment. As a Culinary Supervisor, you will provide hands-on leadership overseeing daily food production activities, ensuring consistent quality, and maintaining compliance with strict culinary, food safety, and sanitation standards. This position holds a critical role supporting Senior Cooks while also assisting Executive and Sous Chefs with the execution of production and service plans.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating kitchen staff, managing production schedules, enforcing standardized recipes and portion control, and maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment. You will actively participate in food preparation while directing workflows and reinforcing operational standards, which may vary depending on the specific client account, kitchen structure, and service volume. Part of the role also involves supporting the onboarding and training of culinary team members, ensuring they adhere to company protocols and high-quality standards.
Ideal candidates possess at least two to four years of culinary experience with some prior supervisory or lead cook exposure. Experience in high-volume, multi-outlet, or event-based culinary operations is highly preferred, as is a working knowledge of batch cooking and just-in-time production methods. Certifications such as Food Handler or ServSafe Manager are required where applicable, confirming your commitment to food safety and regulatory compliance.
Sodexo is committed to your career growth and wellbeing. The company offers a flexible and supportive work environment that allows you to balance your professional and personal life effectively. You will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities to advance your career within a global enterprise. Sodexo's comprehensive benefits package supports you and your family, including paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, 401k plans, employee discount programs, and more. Some locations may also provide additional site-specific benefits such as free meals during shifts, uniforms, safety shoes, and assistance with transportation costs.
Joining Sodexo means becoming part of a team dedicated to creating a memorable customer experience and fostering a workplace culture where every employee feels valued and empowered. The Culinary Supervisor role is an excellent opportunity to apply your culinary expertise in a leadership capacity while contributing to the vibrant community at Liberty University and Sodexo's wider mission of making a positive difference in the world.
