The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is a vital position focused on maintaining high standards of food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety. This position assists the manager in food and meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, completing daily reports, and ensuring that food storage and handling comply with food safety regulations. In addition to food preparation, the Food Service Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining the kitchen and storage areas, including the cleaning and sanitization of equipment, counters, steam tables, refrigerators, and freezers. Duties also include sweeping, mopping, and maintaining the garbage collection area to ensure a neat and sanitary environment. Physical demands of the position may involve lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. The role may require wearing uniforms and using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for safety. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food service preferred
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation regulations
  • physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods
  • ability to wear uniforms and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Food Service Certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages
  • add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
  • use of uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
