The role of Line Cook at Belmont Village Senior Living is a full-time and PRN (as needed) position starting at $18 per hour, open to candidates with a minimum of three years of experience in a scratch kitchen or fast-paced restaurant environment. This critical role is essential in delivering an excellent dining experience to seniors by performing multi-functional kitchen duties related to food preparation, setup, service, and cleanup in a high-volume senior living community commercial kitchen. The Line Cook is expected to prepare meals from scratch using company recipes, ensuring portion control, timing, and attractive presentation while adhering to strict food safety and cleanliness standards. This role demands reliability, professionalism, a positive team-oriented attitude, and empathy due to the nature of serving the senior population. Candidates must be adaptable, as the shifts vary and include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of line cook experience in a scratch kitchen or fast paced restaurant
  • Must be available for all shifts: 5:30am-1:30pm, 10:30am-6:00pm, 11:00am-7:30pm
  • Days will vary to include weekends
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • Consistent and reliable attendance
  • All offers of employment are conditional based on the successful completion of a state and federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • Minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
  • Proven success with basic culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
  • Ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Consistent and reliable attendance

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals from scratch according to assigned recipe specifications and quality standards
  • Follow recipes, manage portion control and ensure attractive plate presentation
  • Properly manage cook times while preparing and efficiently managing several orders simultaneously
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • Follow checklists and company procedures to ensure kitchen is stocked and well maintained at all times
  • Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
