The role of Culinary Lead at Sur La Table is pivotal for the overall success of the store, combining culinary skills, leadership insight, and business acumen. Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment
- Culinary arts degree preferred or extensive culinary experience
- 1-2 years of progressively responsible kitchen management experience
- Valid food manager certification
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to stand for up to 4 hours continuously
- Ability to move about store coaching and directing associates
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and using kitchen tools
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
- Capability to work in variable kitchen environment with heat and allergens
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Degree in culinary arts preferred or extensive culinary experience
- 1-2 years kitchen management experience
- Valid food manager certification
- Excellent communication problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Passion for community engagement and customer experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred
Job Duties
- Support recruitment training and ongoing development of culinary team
- Lead coach and inspire associates to exceed performance expectations and uphold positive team culture
- Provide coaching and feedback to elevate team performance and engagement
- Represent Sur La Table brand and create memorable educational experiences
- Ensure high-quality execution of cooking classes and hold employees accountable
- Work with store leadership to increase foot traffic through classes and events
- Drive sales growth by implementing culinary and retail strategies
- Analyze performance metrics and optimize store results
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations
- Manage inventory minimize shrink and control culinary expenses
- Ensure store safety cleanliness and adherence to SOPs
