The role of Culinary Director at Residence at Gramercy is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of dining services and culinary operations. This position ensures that food quality, safety, and service meet the highest standards while fostering a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for our residents. Working Monday through Friday with variable shifts including weekend and holiday rotations, the Culinary Director plays a key role in managing meal planning, budgeting, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance in dietary matters. The successful candidate will lead a team of kitchen staff, servers, and dining service personnel, ensuring a collaborative, efficient, and supportive working environment. This role is ideal for an experienced culinary professional with at least three years in senior or assisted living culinary service, who values teamwork and is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors through exceptional dining experiences.

Job Requirements

  • 3 years of culinary experience in senior living or assisted living
  • ServSafe or other food safety certification
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen/dining environment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of the dining services operations and compliance

  • Responsible for meal planning, staff supervision, budgeting, compliance with dietary regulations, and creating a positive dining experience for residents
  • Lead and manage the dining services team, kitchen staff, and servers
