Job Description

IDEA Public Charter School is currently seeking a passionate and hands-on Culinary Arts Teacher to spearhead the launch of this exciting new Culinary Arts program. During the 2026-2027 school year, the successful candidate will initially teach two sections of Culinary Arts courses while playing a pivotal role in building and shaping the program for future growth. This role will expand into a full-time position in the subsequent 2027-2028 school year as the program continues to evolve and attract more students. The Culinary Arts Teacher will introduce high school students to fundamental culinary skills including kitchen operations, food preparation, safety and sanitation standards, professionalism, and career opportunities within the hospitality and food service industries.
This role is ideal for someone who brings both practical food industry experience and a passion for teaching young learners. The teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and hands-on instruction, creating real-world learning experiences, and fostering a professional and supportive classroom environment. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field
- Experience in the food industry or culinary education
- Ability to teach and engage high school students in culinary arts courses
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to student success and program development

Job Duties
- Teach two sections of Culinary Arts courses
