Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or minimum of 10 years culinary field experience in various restaurants in management role required
  • At least 2 years teaching experience in higher Education
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively in a diverse campus community
  • Willingness to participate in administrative responsibilities including assessment faculty development and outreach
  • Ability to use a diverse range of technology-based teaching strategies
  • Ability to maintain a professional teaching environment aligned with industry standards
  • Ability to manage operational duties related to running a restaurant

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or minimum of 10 years culinary field experience in management role required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least 2 years teaching experience in higher education
  • ServSafe and Bassett certifications preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with technology-based instructional methods
  • Ability to mentor and support diverse student populations
  • Familiarity with front of house operations and fine dining service

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues

Job Duties

  • Instruct students in fine dining service standards including table settings wine service etiquette and guest interaction
  • Oversee student-run dining room experiences and events ensuring quality service and professionalism
  • Collaborate with culinary instructors to coordinate seamless front- and back-of-house operations
  • Mentor students in hospitality principles service leadership and teamwork
  • Maintain a professional real-world learning environment aligned with industry standards
  • Manage operational duties in running a restaurant such as inventory sales reports social media and promotion
  • Provide full-time presence on campus during teaching days and maintain set office hours
  • Offer student support in learning through office hours tutorial assistance coaching and career and academic advice
  • Develop and update coursework in collaboration with college dean and program director
  • Participate in community service including committee memberships Senate meetings and faculty development initiatives
  • Assist in hiring and training adjunct faculty
  • Attend key school events including graduation ceremonies university community meetings and professional development training
  • Represent the program and college through industry consulting academic publishing media citations and attendance at conferences
  • Engage in administrative planning and goal attainment aligned with institutional timelines
  • Build and maintain partnerships with external organizations and advisory councils to support curriculum and work-based learning
  • Support enrollment growth initiatives and develop partnerships with feeder institutions
  • Collaborate with Career Bridge department to expand employer networks for internships and jobs
  • Plan and execute long-term goals with resource allocation and milestone setting
