The role of Service Department Utility at Sparkle Uniform & Linen Service is a full-time position designed for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position involves a variety of responsibilities that support the service department managers by ensuring that all service-related activities run smoothly and efficiently. The Service Department Utility will assist with route delivery tasks, including special deliveries, inventory management, new account installations, account servicing and maintenance, and vehicle logistics such as loading, unloading, and relocation. This role is pivotal in maintaining the high standards the company is known for by providing exceptional customer service through the consistent pick-up and delivery of uniforms, mats, towels, and other linens.
In addition to executing logistical and operational tasks, the Service Department Utility is also a key representative of the company’s professional image. Maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor during all customer interactions is vital, as is the ability to use handheld electronic devices to accurately update and store customer information during service calls. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- valid CA drivers license and clean driving record
- able to lift and move up to 75lbs occasionally
- experience working in a fast paced customer service focused environment
- ability to handle multiple projects in an efficient and independent way
- ability to complete all necessary paperwork completely and legibly
- ability to use a handheld electronic device to update and store customer information
- maintain a professional image and appearance
- strong communication skills
- ability to educate customers on services offered
- follow established safety procedures
- previous industry experience preferred but not required

Job Duties
- Assist the Service Department Managers with route delivery assistance
- deliver special orders to customers
- manage inventory and perform counting projects
- assist with new account installations
- provide account service and maintenance
- load and unload vehicles
- relocate vehicles as directed by Service Department Managers
