Job Description

Hilton Garden Inn Detroit Downtown is a vibrant hotel located in the heart of downtown Detroit. Situated just steps away from Greektown's renowned dining and entertainment, this hotel provides guests with easy access to iconic city landmarks such as Comerica Park, Ford Field, Detroit Opera House, and the Fillmore, all within half a mile. Additionally, cultural attractions like the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Motown Museum are just a short drive away, making the hotel an ideal destination for both leisure and business travelers seeking convenience and comfort in the city center. Guests can indulge in all-day dining options offered at the hotel’s Garden Grille and Chrome Bar & Grille, complemented by complimentary WiFi to stay connected throughout their stay.

SPIRE Hospitality, the management company behind this property, specializes in delivering memorable guest experiences through best-in-class service across its portfolio of hotels and resorts nationwide. They prioritize supporting their staff by providing the necessary tools, resources, and opportunities for career growth within the hospitality industry. Their comprehensive benefits package includes earned wage access to get paid before payday, medical, dental, and vision insurance, pet discount programs, identity theft protection, prepaid legal support, flexible spending accounts, a matched 401K, life insurance, critical accident or illness coverage, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid time off, wellness initiatives, and exclusive hotel discounts, reinforcing their commitment to employee well-being.

This particular role focuses on delivering exceptional guest service while maintaining the full operational functionality of the Hilton Garden Inn Detroit Downtown building. As part of the engineering team, the individual will be responsible for the repair, service, and preventative maintenance of all aspects within and outside the hotel. The position requires a passion for high-quality workmanship and the ability to perform effectively within a team environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring all facilities operate smoothly, which directly contributes to a high standard of guest satisfaction and seamless hotel operations.

Beyond technical responsibilities, the role also involves a proactive approach to driving group sales, pursuing new business opportunities, and managing guest room night sales within the Sales & Catering Division. This involves conducting site inspections for potential and existing clients, showcasing the property’s offerings, coordinating with various departments for seamless account servicing, and fostering strong relationships with the local Chamber of Commerce, civic groups, and businesses. The physical demands of the role include the ability to sit for extended periods and to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.

Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of hospitality sales and/or convention service experience are preferred. Prior sales experience is required, along with confidence in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) is considered an advantage. Spire Hospitality, LLC is committed to equal opportunity employment, including for individuals with disabilities and veterans, ensuring an inclusive and supportive workplace.
