The Corporate Event Specialist role is a key position within Marsh’s Global Events team, based in New York City with a hybrid work schedule requiring at least four days per week on-site. This dynamic role involves managing and producing both internal and external corporate events from inception to completion in a fast-paced, client service-oriented environment. The specialist will lead planning efforts by setting a clear vision and driving creative, detailed, and holistic event strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Critical responsibilities include sourcing and securing venues through site inspections and contract negotiations, requiring candidates to have knowledgeable experience in vendor relations and managing financial aspects such as budget development, expense tracking, invoice processing, and post-event reconciliation. The specialist takes ownership of comprehensive event components including venue logistics, communications, registration, transportation, decor, audio/visual production, branding, and on-site supervision.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 3 years of full-time event management experience
- Must reside in the NYC tri-state area
- Experience with in-person and hybrid events
- Willingness to travel for site visits and event management
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and extended hours
- Ability to lift materials up to 30 lbs
- Hybrid role requiring at least 4 days per week in NYC office
- Approximate 20% annual travel
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time event management experience
- Strong corporate event planning background with C-suite experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with in-person and hybrid events
- Experience with contract negotiation
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with meeting management software such as Cvent is a plus
Job Duties
- Lead planning of assigned meetings and events by establishing vision and overseeing ideation, planning, and execution
- Identify, research, and secure meeting venues through site inspections and contract negotiations
- Develop and manage event budgets, track expenses, review and process vendor invoices and wire transfers, and conduct post-event budget reconciliation
- Manage comprehensive event services including venue management, contracting, timelines, communications, registration, hotel arrangements, transportation, food and beverage, décor, speaker and sponsor coordination, AV/production, branding, mobile apps, off-site activities, shipping, and on-site supervision
- Establish and cultivate strong relationships with hotels, restaurants, and third-party providers
- Gather feedback from attendees, analyze event metrics, and prepare post-event reports
- Support development to optimize event planning process, standardize budget tracking, control expenses, leverage event technology, analyze event success, and improve attendee experience
