The Sweetgreen Team Member role is an integral position within the restaurant, where employees are more than just workers—they are part of a movement aimed at reshaping the fast food experience by delivering fresh, thoughtfully prepared food alongside outstanding guest service. As a Sweetgreen Team Member, you will engage in various tasks such as preparing and serving fresh ingredients, building high-quality orders that meet the brand’s standards, and welcoming guests with warm and genuine hospitality. Team Members help maintain a clean and organized work environment to support efficient service, following strict food safety and sanitation protocols to ensure guest safety and trust. This role requires a commitment of at least 12 hours per week and involves physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and manual dexterity, aligned with the demands of a dynamic restaurant environment.

Job Requirements

  • Must be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • must be authorized to work in the United States
  • lifting routinely handling items up to 5-25 lbs and occasionally handling items 40-50 lbs
  • bending for accessing low areas and handling items
  • reaching for accessing high areas and handling items, includes building salads and restocking ingredients
  • standing/walking extended periods including moving between areas
  • squatting for accessing low areas and handling items
  • pulling managing tasks that require pulling items or equipment
  • manual dexterity typing, interacting with systems, handling tools (knives, thermometers, POS systems), and managing cleaning tools
  • physical mobility navigating stairs, doors, ramps, elevators, and using equipment
  • physical endurance maintaining energy and efficiency through long shifts and peak periods
  • coordination balance, multitasking, and handling bulky items or equipment in tight spaces

Job Duties

  • Deliver warm, genuine hospitality making every guest feel welcomed, cared for, and valued
  • prep and serve fresh food with speed and precision ensuring great taste, portions, and presentation
  • build accurate, high-quality orders that meet Sweetgreen's food and brand standards
  • keep your station clean, stocked, and organized to support smooth service and strong flow
  • follow food safety, sanitation, and allergen protocols to protect guest trust and team standards
  • work seamlessly with teammates to balance prep, service, and restocking especially during busy shifts
