Job Description
The National Grocers Association (NGA) is a renowned trade association headquartered in Washington, DC, dedicated to representing the $250 billion independent supermarket industry. Serving as a national voice for independent grocers and wholesalers for over 40 years, NGA is deeply committed to advocating for community-focused businesses that hold a significant presence in neighborhoods throughout the United States. This commitment manifests through a multifaceted approach incorporating advocacy, education, collaboration, business services, and fostering meaningful industry connections. Furthermore, NGA extends its support for the grocery industry through its affiliated nonprofit entity, the NGA Foundation, which contributes to the advancement of the sector by promoting knowledge, research, and education initiatives.
The role of Coordinator of Events and Member Support occupies a vital position within NGA, tasked with ensuring an exceptional experience for its members, partners, sponsors, and other stakeholders. This position functions primarily by providing comprehensive operational and administrative support across multiple key areas, including the association’s events, membership services, and business development activities. The coordinator plays an instrumental role in the accurate and professional execution of commitments and deliverables, diligently managing deadlines and coordinating efforts across internal teams. This role is tailored for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is adept at juggling multiple priorities.
In this capacity, the coordinator is expected to support both behind-the-scenes operations and direct engagement with a diverse range of participants including senior industry leaders. The position demands an individual who values customer service, has strong communication skills, and demonstrates a proactive and solution-focused mindset. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to contribute to a respected organization that impacts the grocery industry at a national scale, offering a hybrid work schedule and a competitive salary range of $53,000 to $58,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
