This makes it more than just a workplace—it's a place where employees and guests alike can share a passion for mountain culture and outdoor adventures. The resort offers a wide variety of services including full-service restaurants, cafeterias, bars, and coffee shops spread across multiple lodges. These locations are designed to cater to all guest needs, from casual snacks to fine dining experiences, in environments that range from base lodges to a mid-mountain lodge positioned high on the ski slopes.
Employees at Mt. Bachelor benefit from a unique working environment that melds work and play, providing access to excellent perks and benefits that enhance their quality of life both at and outside of work. The resort emphasizes the importance of teamwork, positive attitudes, creativity, safety, and continuous growth in culinary and service skills. This is reflected in the vibrant and inclusive workplace culture where employees are encouraged to grow professionally and personally while delivering memorable guest experiences.
The cook positions at Mt. Bachelor, ranging from Cook 1 (Prep Cook) to Cook 3 (Lead Cook), are essential to the delivery of high-quality food service across the resort. These roles require individuals who not only have culinary skills but also the ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments often subject to varying weather conditions on the mountain. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting food to recipe specifications, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, operating kitchen equipment safely, and providing high levels of friendly customer service. Employees may work at different stations within the kitchens or across the various food outlets, gaining a broad range of culinary experiences.
Working at Mt. Bachelor means embracing the outdoor mountain lifestyle and having a positive, team-focused mindset. Employees must be ready to meet physical demands such as lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods, moving across steep and sometimes uneven terrain in all weather conditions. The roles also require a strong commitment to punctuality and professionalism, along with a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the resort operations throughout the seasons.
Compensation for these cook positions ranges from $18.75 to $24.50 per hour, dependent on experience, and the minimum age requirement to apply is 18 years.
