Job Description

Child Care Associates is a distinguished organization dedicated to providing high-quality child care services across various locations. Known for its commitment to nurturing environments and exceptional care, Child Care Associates stands as a leading employer in the childcare sector, fostering inclusivity and equal opportunity within the workplace. Operating as a full-time employer at the Studio at TCC South in Fort Worth, Texas, the company emphasizes creating safe, supportive spaces for children to grow and thrive.\n\nThe Cook/Housekeeper (Nutrition & Sanitation Clerk) role at Child Care Associates plays a pivotal function in ensuring that the childcare center operates smoothly in terms of both nutrition and cleanliness. This full-time position, offering $16 per hour, is centered on preparing and serving nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with USDA guidelines and food safety standards, thereby promoting the health and well-being of young children under the center’s care. Besides food preparation, the role extends to performing light custodial duties, maintaining sanitation throughout the kitchen and entire center, managing food inventory and supplies, and conducting safety inspections both indoors and outdoors. The Cook/Housekeeper also collaborates closely with infant teachers to customize menus tailored to infants aged 0 to 12 months, ensuring that nutritional requirements are meticulously met.\n\nThis position requires a dependable and organized individual who can contribute positively to a nurturing childcare environment. Duties include the preparation of food using basic kitchen math to guarantee precise portions, submitting grocery and USDA food service forms promptly, assisting with supply inventory, and maintaining cleanliness in all areas including floors, carpets, bathrooms, and equipment. The candidate will also be responsible for disposing of trash safely, supporting classroom and playground supervision when necessary to maintain appropriate adult-to-child ratios, and potentially traveling to assist other campuses. Additional responsibilities include participating in required nutrition and sanitation training, and performing other related tasks as assigned.\n\nThe role combines elements of nutrition, sanitation, and light housekeeping with an overarching goal to support the health, safety, and comfort of children and staff in the center. It demands physical stamina such as the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, carry up to 50 pounds, and perform various physical movements including bending, stooping, and kneeling. The position also mandates specific vision abilities and the capacity to monitor child safety attentively in dynamic settings.\n\nChild Care Associates values professionalism and effective communication skills as the candidate must interact professionally with both staff and children, follow instructions accurately, complete necessary documentation, and manage inventories efficiently. This opportunity suits individuals passionate about working within childcare institutions and eager to contribute to a positive, clean, and nourishing environment. The employment package includes passing a pre-employment physical, TB tests, background checks, and holding valid food handler and health certifications, underlying the organization's commitment to safety and standards compliance.
