Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years cooking experience
  • ServSafe certification
  • ability to work full-time
  • strong attention to safety and quality in food preparation
  • ability to follow established recipes and batch cooking procedures
  • capability to maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years cooking experience
  • ServSafe Certification
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
  • ability to work cooperatively as a valued member of the dining services team
  • strong communication skills to report food production and kitchen concerns to supervisors
  • knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen safety protocols

Job Duties

  • Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service
  • prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
  • utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
  • utilize safe food handling techniques at all times
  • maintain a safe, tidy and well-organized work environment at all times
  • clean up spills quickly, wear protective gear as needed such as slicer gloves
  • communicate needs and concerns regarding food production and kitchen operation to supervisor appropriately and in a timely manner
