By joining Summit, employees become part of a dedicated team that values integrity, quality service, and the impact of providing food as a fundamental aspect of rehabilitation and care within correctional settings.
Located in Van Buren, Arkansas, Summit is currently seeking a full-time Cook Supervisor to join their onsite kitchen team within the corrections segment. This role offers an hourly wage of $16.00 and presents an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals eager to expand their supervisory experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Cook Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing kitchen staff activities to ensure efficient preparation and delivery of meals, adhering strictly to established culinary and sanitation standards. This position demands strong leadership skills, an eye for detail, and a commitment to excellence in food quality, portion control, and timely service.
As a Cook Supervisor at Summit, you will play a pivotal role in instructing and training kitchen employees, ensuring that all food service operations comply with safety and sanitation guidelines. You will be expected to maintain high culinary standards, especially emphasizing scratch cooking techniques, which are crucial to delivering wholesome, freshly prepared meals. In addition to supervising food prep and cooking processes, you will ensure meals are presented with the appropriate portion sizes, appealing appearance, and held at the correct temperatures for serving.
This position requires the ability to multitask efficiently and maintain meticulous attention to detail, qualities essential for managing the demands of a corrections kitchen environment. Experience in supervising a team and a thorough knowledge of proper culinary methods are key factors for success. The ideal candidate brings prior experience from high-volume and quality-driven culinary establishments and is comfortable working under the pressure of large-scale food production. Candidate readiness to provide excellent customer service within the corrections setting, serving both staff and inmates, is highly valued.
Additionally, Summit offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports the health, well-being, and financial security of its employees. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage for full-time employees, voluntary accident and critical illness insurance options, commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, 401k retirement plans, paid sick time, holiday pay for nine holidays, tuition reimbursement for full-time employees, and paid time off.
