As a reputable healthcare provider dedicated to senior care, Presbyterian SeniorCare Network offers a variety of residential options, including skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and personalized care plans to ensure residents receive the best possible support and services. Their Washington, PA campus features Southmont, a skilled nursing community designed to provide both comfort and a secure healing environment in a modern, home-like setting. Southmont is organized into neighborhoods, offering long-term care and short-term rehabilitation services including physical, occupational, and speech therapies. The expert team at Southmont includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and social workers who collaborate closely with residents, their families, and healthcare providers to develop and implement personalized care plans focused on the wellbeing of each individual.
The role of the Cook at Southmont involves the proper preparation of large quantities of food items for residents, staff, and visitors within the community. This is a full-time position based in Washington, PA, offering an hourly wage and varied shifts to accommodate operational needs. The Cook works as an assistant to the chef or Head Cook and plays a critical role in ensuring that the community kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. The position requires skill in a full-service commercial kitchen, where the Cook will occasionally oversee staff in the absence of the Dining Services Director, providing essential supervision and maintaining high standards for food preparation and safety. This position not only requires culinary expertise but also the ability to foster a warm and welcoming environment that supports the overall mission of Presbyterian SeniorCare Network. Working at Southmont means joining a passionate team dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults through excellent nutritional support and meal service. The organization offers numerous perks and benefits including affordable family health coverage encompassing medical, dental, and vision plans, employer-paid short-term disability, company-paid life insurance for full-time team members, generous paid time off allowing for a good work-life balance, and a retirement savings plan with company match to help secure your future. Unique benefits such as free parking, employee referral bonuses, pet insurance, renter's insurance, and formal apprenticeship and mentorship programs further support career growth and personal development. The Cook position at Southmont is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and senior care to contribute to a meaningful community while advancing their skills and career in a supportive environment.
