Job Description

MetroLagoons is a premier recreational destination known as the Best Lagoons in the United States. Renowned for its exceptional water attractions, family-friendly environment, and vibrant guest experiences, MetroLagoons operates seasonally, inviting enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join its team for the 2026 Spring and Summer seasons. This company specializes in delivering memorable outings where visitors can enjoy not only the lagoons but also a variety of food and beverage offerings through dynamic food truck operations across the property. With a commitment to providing excellent service, MetroLagoons prides itself on maintaining a professional and friendly atmosphere where employees have flexible scheduling options spanning mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends to accommodate diverse lifestyles and availability.

The Cook role at MetroLagoons is integral to the food and beverage service team, serving as a vital frontline representative for guests. Positioned within a lively food truck setting, the cook is responsible for the preparation and serving of a carefully curated menu featuring items made with ovens, deep fryers, and other kitchen equipment. This role requires attention to detail in ingredient preparation, adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, inventory management, and cooperation with the management team to ensure operational efficiency and quality service. The ability to maintain a clean and organized work station and deliver food items timely while exercising excellent communication skills forms the foundation of success in this position.

MetroLagoons offers a unique work environment that combines the challenges of food preparation in a confined mobile kitchen with the dynamic conditions of working outdoors. This role is physically demanding due to high temperatures, humidity, and exposure to weather elements such as heat, rain, and cold. Flexibility and reliability are crucial as the work schedule varies widely based on business needs, including weekday, weekend, holiday shifts, and varied hours. The cook must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds if necessary.

MetroLagoons supports its employees with training for food and beverage safety certifications and values candidates who are energetic, customer-service oriented, and enthusiastic. Those with prior experience in cash handling, POS systems like Focus, and multi-tasking in fast-paced environments are encouraged to apply. Working with MetroLagoons offers the chance to be a part of a welcoming team that receives discounted access to lagoon entry, food and beverage, and merchandise. MetroLagoons is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusivity, ensuring a respectful work environment for all employees regardless of age, gender, race, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected status.
