In this position, the Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of hot and cold food items in compliance with established recipes, health, and safety standards. The role demands keen attention to detail in food preparation, rotation of perishable items to maintain freshness, accurate labeling with expiration dates, and observance of stringent sanitation protocols. The Cook operates in various settings including room service, catering functions, or the hospital café, sometimes serving customers directly. The Cook works under the direct supervision of culinary leadership, including the Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Executive Chef.
