The position available is for a Chef/Cook, a vital role that directly influences the residents’ dining experience. As a Chef/Cook at The Springs Living, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals and snacks that consistently meet the highest standards for quality and presentation. You will be key in enhancing the residents' dining experience by adhering to established menus and recipes, maintaining sanitary food preparation practices, and ensuring portion control and dietary guidelines are followed carefully. Your attention to detail in presenting meals attractively and resolving any food service concerns promptly will be essential to the community's reputation.

Your role will also extend to supervising food services employees during the absence of the Executive Chef, ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and cleanly following rigorous cleaning schedules. Safety and respect for the community's values will underpin your daily work practices, alongside effective communication, cooperation with fellow team members, and a professional demeanor in all interactions.

Physical activity is a component of the work environment, involving lifting, standing, walking, and handling food preparation duties throughout the workday. Job Requirements

  • Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds
  • to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the work day
  • to frequently push pull bend twist and reach
  • must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach handle items
  • must also be able to walk throughout campus on frequent basis for extended periods of time up to five hours
  • involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous daily activities

Job Qualifications

  • Previous culinary experience 1-2 years
  • holds current food handler's permit
  • ability to prioritize organize and delegate assignments

Job Duties

  • Prepares and serves meals snacks and beverages that are consistently appetizing
  • assures that meals are consistently served with attractive presentation
  • assures that meals are served punctually
  • resolves resident food and or food service complaints graciously and promptly
  • assures that all meals are prepared according to The Springs Living menus and recipes
  • prepares meals adhering to all food sanitation policies and procedures
  • prepares meals adhering to all portion control and special dietary guidelines
  • assures that necessary snacks are available at the appropriate times
  • assures food is stored correctly adhering to all related guidelines
  • assures kitchen is cleaned after meals including but not limited to pots and pans all surfaces and the floor
  • performs all cleaning tasks according to cleaning schedule
  • supervises food services employees in the absence of the Executive Chef
