Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • successful completion of an approved sanitation and safety course within 60 days
  • able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • able to push and pull up to 50 pounds
  • able to stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods
  • able to work assigned schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • must live in service area
  • ability to work around food and cleaning products

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • successful completion of an approved sanitation and safety course within 60 days
  • specialized training in foodservice is desirable
  • general knowledge of nutrition
  • ability to read and apply requirements of food tray cards
  • written and oral communication skills
  • knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques
  • experience working in quantity food production environments

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve food including texture modified and therapeutic diets according to the facility menu
  • prepare food in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and guidelines
  • follow established policies and procedures to ensure quality food service
  • assist in proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures
  • assist dietary aides as necessary and direct other employees in absence of the Dining Services Director
  • read, speak and understand English, follow directions and complete tasks
  • maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
