Job Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of one-year professional cooking experience
  • Preferably have experience in a health care setting
  • Experience with catering, senior living or institutional batch cooking is desired
  • Must be able to follow standardized recipes and verbal or written recipe adjustments
  • Must understand different food cuisines and flavor profiles
  • Experience with high volume production preferred
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to work independently and make sound decisions

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepares menu items within allotted time period using appropriate standardized recipes
  • Assures optimal quality, temperature and appearance of meals
  • Adheres to special diet needs and is knowledgeable of allergen information
  • Adheres to food safety and workplace safety standards, policies and procedures as regulated by department
  • Ensures proper sanitation of kitchen and equipment following department standards, policies and procedures
  • Exercises proper use of all equipment
  • Follows uniform guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned
