This job listing is for an on-call Cook position at Swedish Cherry Hill, located at 500 17th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98122. The role offers an hourly pay rate ranging from $31.00 to $33.00, with an on-call schedule where days and hours may vary, primarily during the AM shifts. The Cook’s responsibilities include preparing food according to federal, state, and corporate standards and guidelines, guaranteeing meals meet quality and safety expectations. The successful candidate will be responsible for tasting all prepared food items, serving or preparing meals for delivery using correct portioning and presentation standards, and adhering strictly to food temperature requirements. The Cook will also manage ticket collection during service periods, maintain accurate records, clean and organize kitchen areas meticulously, and safely store or dispose of excess food per food-handling procedures.
Additionally, the Cook will operate and maintain kitchen equipment appropriately, support production planning, aid in the ordering and receiving of food supplies, and promptly report any maintenance issues or accidents to supervisors. Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of culinary experience preferred
- Ability to work on an on-call schedule including varied AM shifts
- Capable of performing physical tasks in a kitchen environment
- Knowledge of and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to taste food and ensure quality
- Capacity to maintain cleanliness and proper food storage
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to follow company safety policies and procedures
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 2 years culinary experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures

Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards and ensuring food is at correct temperature and attractive
- Tastes all prepared food items to ensure quality
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
- Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and stores or discards excess food according to safe food-handling procedures
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping, ordering and receiving of food and supplies
- Reports maintenance issues or accidents to supervisor immediately
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Ensures proper food presentation, portion control and maintains serving temperatures following HACCP standards
- Adheres to all company safety policies including use of cut gloves, oven mitts and slip-resistant shoes
