Job Description
Delaware North is a globally recognized leader in food service management, boasting over 100 years of history as a family-owned company. Known for operating some of the busiest and most prestigious kitchens worldwide, Delaware North creates unforgettable dining experiences across various renowned establishments. At the heart of its operations is a commitment to exceptional service and quality, making it a respected name in the hospitality industry. Delaware North spans a wide range of venues including iconic sports arenas, stunning national parks, exciting casinos, and high-end restaurants, reflecting its diverse portfolio and dedication to providing great times in great places.
One of the exciting opportunities within Delaware North's Patina Group is at Maria and Enzo's Ristorante located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. This acclaimed Italian restaurant is part of a collection of dining venues that includes Tutto Italia, Via Napoli, Morimoto, Vivoli Florida, The Edison, Enzo's Hideaway and Tunnel Bar, and Pizza Ponte. Each venue is known for its distinctive cuisine and atmosphere, contributing to the vibrant food scene in the Lake Buena Vista area.
The available position is for a full-time Cook, offering a competitive pay range of $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. This role is crucial to maintaining the high standards of food preparation, quality, and service expected by guests. Cooks at Maria and Enzo's Ristorante are responsible for preparing dishes in compliance with portion sizes and quality standards, ensuring proper food temperatures, safe storage, and the freshness of all menu items. The job involves operating kitchen equipment and adhering strictly to health codes and sanitation regulations to guarantee a safe and sanitary environment.
Working in this role, employees will perform various duties such as opening and closing kitchen tasks, side work responsibilities, and conducting end-of-day inventory according to set guidelines. Attention to detail is essential, especially in managing waste in accordance with control guidelines and accurately recording spoilage. The work environment requires maintaining clean, organized, and sanitized workstations, coolers, and equipment, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.
The position demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), reach high shelves, bend, squat, and stand or walk throughout the entire shift. These physical requirements are typical for a dynamic kitchen environment which may experience moderate to high noise levels and variable temperatures. Manual dexterity is necessary to chop, mix, blend, whip various foods, and handle kitchen tools effectively.
Delaware North values its employees by offering a comprehensive benefits package tailored to support both personal and professional well-being. Team members enjoy weekly pay, training and development opportunities, employee discounts, and flexible work schedules. Eligible employees may access additional benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) savings plans with company match, paid vacation days and holidays, paid parental bonding leave, employee assistance programs, and tuition or professional certification reimbursement.
This career opportunity is ideal for those with at least one year of experience in a back-of-the-house food service role, basic math skills for measuring and following recipes, and the ability to understand prep sheets. A high school diploma or GED is not required, making this a welcoming role for individuals seeking to build or further their culinary career without formal educational credentials. Join Delaware North and become part of a global legacy that truly values its people and invests in their future growth and success. Together, team members shape the future of hospitality while delivering memorable food experiences to guests from around the world.
