The role of Cook Manager at Stevenson Elementary School within Fridley Public Schools plays a critical role in the district's nutritional services team. This position is vital to the daily operations and overall success of providing nutritious, appealing, and culturally inclusive meals to students and staff. The Cook Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the building's nutritional service operations, which include preparing and cooking food, delivering meals, and maintaining cleanliness in the work environment. This role supports the USDA breakfast and lunch programs, ensuring compliance with strict nutritional and food safety standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid ServSafe or Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager certification must be obtained within 1 year of appointment
- three years of previous quantity food service experience preferably in a school or healthcare setting
- two years of previous supervisory or managerial experience preferably in a school or healthcare setting
- ability to communicate effectively with diverse families
- ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- level 3 certification preferred and must be obtained within 1 year of appointment
- valid ServSafe or Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager certification required and must be obtained within 1 year of appointment
- three years of previous quantity food service experience preferably in a school or healthcare setting
- two years of previous supervisory or managerial experience preferably in a school or healthcare setting
- knowledgeable in utilizing computer software programs including Microsoft, Google, student information software, vendor ordering systems, and nutritional software
Job Duties
