Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept founded in Glendale, California in 1983. As the largest family-owned Asian dining company in America, Panda Restaurant Group operates close to 2,800 locations globally and is dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences through its mission of building an organization where employees are inspired to better their lives. The company embraces family values and strives to impact both its team members and the communities in which it operates. Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is committed to diversity and equal employment opportunity, complying fully with all federal, state, and local laws regarding workplace accommodation and non-discrimination practices.

The Panda Shift Leader role is a pivotal leadership position within the fast-paced and growth-oriented environment of Panda's restaurants. Shift Leaders are essential to bringing the company’s mission to life by supporting restaurant management in creating food with passion, delivering service with heart, and fostering an ambiance filled with pride. This role provides an exceptional opportunity to develop leadership and operational skills by managing store operations and leading the team during shifts. As a Shift Leader, you will play a key part in maintaining a vibrant and welcoming environment for guests while gaining hands-on experience in cooking and preparing popular Panda menu items.

Shift Leaders at Panda are tasked with fostering teamwork and supporting the entire restaurant crew, enabling a smooth operation that meets Panda's standards of quality and hospitality. This role involves balancing multiple responsibilities such as managing the flow of the shift, supporting associates, maintaining food safety practices, and ensuring that guests receive an exceptional dining experience. Shift Leaders gain valuable skills that pave the way for further career growth in restaurant leadership positions.

Working in a dynamic and high-energy environment, Shift Leaders must be adaptable to changing priorities, capable of managing difficult situations with effective communication, and able to work efficiently in fast-paced conditions. The job requires physical stamina, as associates frequently stand for extended periods and perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and working in hot kitchen areas. Shift Leaders also need to meet specific local food safety standards, including obtaining any required food handler certifications.

Joining Panda Restaurant Group as a Shift Leader means becoming part of a team that values each individual’s contributions and growth. The company offers a supportive workplace that encourages personal development, nurtures leadership potential, and embraces diversity and inclusion. Candidates interested in this role should be prepared for a challenging yet rewarding experience that combines hands-on restaurant work with leadership responsibilities in one of America's most recognized Asian dining brands.
