Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a prominent and family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept, proudly founded in Glendale, California in 1983. Today, it stands as the largest family-owned Asian dining chain in the United States, boasting nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The company's mission revolves around delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences that inspire not only their guests but also their team members to improve their lives. Panda Restaurant Group is deeply committed to fostering family values, both within their organization and in the communities where they operate. They firmly believe that their people are the key ingredient to their success, and they strive to build an environment where employees feel supported, valued, and motivated to grow personally and professionally.

The Shift Leader role at Panda Restaurant Group is a vital position within the restaurant's fast-paced and vibrant environment. This role serves as a crucial bridge between management and team members, empowering the Shift Leader to lead daily operations and uphold the company’s core values of passion for food, heartfelt service, and pride in ambiance. Shift Leaders at Panda play an essential part in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests while also ensuring smooth store operations during their shifts. This leadership position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to develop diverse skills in food preparation, team leadership, and customer service. The candidate will gain hands-on experience cooking popular Panda favorites, guiding team members effectively, and managing various operational tasks during shifts.

As a Shift Leader, you will be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities that blend customer engagement with operational leadership. Panda emphasizes the importance of cultivating a vibrant and positive guest experience, thus the role demands excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic, changing work environments. This position is ideal for someone eager to grow within the food service industry and build a career path in restaurant management. The workplace environment is dynamic and requires employees to stand for extended periods and handle physical tasks like lifting up to 50 pounds. The role also involves working in kitchen spaces that may be hot and noisy, requiring quick decision-making skills, accuracy, and dexterity.

Furthermore, Panda Restaurant Group is a staunch advocate for workplace equality and diversity. They adhere strictly to federal, state, and local laws related to workplace accommodations and anti-discrimination policies, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This commitment ensures that all employees, regardless of their background or physical capabilities, are given fair and equal opportunities to thrive within the Panda family. The company encourages prospective applicants needing accommodations during the application or interview process to reach out proactively to receive necessary support. Overall, this Shift Leader position offers a rewarding career opportunity within a well-established and ethically driven company that values both its guests and employees.
