The hourly wage for this position is $21, reflecting the value the hotel places on culinary excellence and professional development. \n\nAs a Cook III, you will be entrusted with directing and overseeing designated kitchen stations, ensuring that food is prepared with the utmost quality and efficiency. This role requires mastery of various cooking techniques including braising, smoking, grilling, broiling, blanching, and sautéing, among others. By owning your station's preparation methods, you contribute to maintaining high standards across all kitchen operations. The position offers a dynamic work environment where you have the chance to work across different kitchen areas such as Garde Manger, Pastry, Banquets, and Restaurant kitchens. This rotational experience not only broadens your culinary skills but also prepares you for leadership roles within the organization. \n\nYour responsibilities will include managing daily specials, coordinating food preparation volumes, and ensuring proper receipt and storage of products through effective rotation and compliance with storage procedures. Collaboration with new hires is also a key aspect of the role, where you will support training efforts and help familiarize new team members with the standard practices of the kitchen. Beyond your station duties, you will assist the Chef de Cuisine and supervisors by providing support to culinary colleagues at all levels, fostering teamwork and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Job Requirements

  • Three years of line and fine dining experience
  • Texas Food Handlers Certification required

Job Duties

  • Direct and oversee designated kitchen stations
  • check quality of finished food products
  • utilize proper knife skills
  • ensure efficient preparation methods and procedures
  • prepare various food items using cooking techniques such as braising, smoking, grilling, broiling, blanching, and sautéing
  • assist with daily specials
  • receive and rotate products appropriately
  • utilize proper storage procedures
  • support training needs for new hires
  • familiarize new associates with standard practices
  • assist Chef de Cuisine and supervisors in supporting culinary colleagues
