The position available at SMCS-Sutter Med Center - Sacramento is a Food Service Worker role responsible for the preparation, cooking, quality control, and presentation of food served to patients, staff, visitors, and during catering events. This full-time role operates varied shifts, including weekends as needed, working 40 hours per week with hourly pay ranging from $32.79 to $39.34, depending on experience, location, and other compensatory factors. The job entails strict adherence to established policies and procedures to ensure food accuracy and maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation as per local, state, and federal regulations. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- ServSafe certification required at hire or within 120 days of 01/01/2026
- Two years recent relevant experience
- Knowledge of maintaining a safe food environment including proper cleaning procedures
- Ability to instruct and supervise other employees
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Effective problem-solving skills
