Job Description
This Cook III position is with an established food service provider within the healthcare industry in the United States of America. Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or ged equivalent
- prior food service experience including cooking
- ability to read and follow recipes accurately
- proficiency in operating kitchen equipment
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- capacity to document and maintain temperature and equipment logs
- ability to participate in and lead team meetings
Job Duties
- gathers ingredients for assigned menu items
- obtains recipe calibrated for the number of servings specified
- pre-preps food ingredients according to standardized recipes
- assembles food ingredients and measures or weighs every ingredient specified by recipe
- bakes roasts fries broils and steams foods
- follows correct procedures for processing ingredients and uses correct pan size
- assembles finished food pans on steam tables according to diagrams
- sets up grill or fryer and fries items as assigned
- follows all standards of safe food handling temperature control and hygiene
- records food and equipment temperatures in temperature logs
- performs general cleaning and sanitation of kitchen and food contact surfaces
- attends and sometimes leads daily production meetings and department in-services
