Job Qualifications

high school diploma or ged equivalent
prior food service experience including cooking
ability to read and follow recipes accurately
proficiency in operating kitchen equipment
knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
capacity to document and maintain temperature and equipment logs
ability to participate in and lead team meetings

Job Duties

gathers ingredients for assigned menu items
obtains recipe calibrated for the number of servings specified
pre-preps food ingredients according to standardized recipes
assembles food ingredients and measures or weighs every ingredient specified by recipe
bakes roasts fries broils and steams foods
follows correct procedures for processing ingredients and uses correct pan size
assembles finished food pans on steam tables according to diagrams
sets up grill or fryer and fries items as assigned
follows all standards of safe food handling temperature control and hygiene
records food and equipment temperatures in temperature logs
performs general cleaning and sanitation of kitchen and food contact surfaces
attends and sometimes leads daily production meetings and department in-services
