Each property in their portfolio reflects unique character and style, contributing to the brand's reputation for quality and innovation. The Hilton Milwaukee itself is a historic gem originally built in 1927 as the Schroeder Hotel, now the city's largest hotel featuring 554 beautifully appointed guest rooms and over 34,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Recently, the hotel underwent a $40 million renovation, enhancing guest rooms, event spaces, and the grand lobby to embody modern elegance while maintaining its historic charm. This renovation aligns with the hotel's connection to the newly expanded Baird Center, securing its status as Milwaukee's premier meeting and convention destination.
The role of Cook II at the Hilton Milwaukee offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and hospitality to join a dynamic team dedicated to exceptional guest experiences. As a Cook II, the individual will assume responsibility for maintaining and setting up food production with a focus on quality control across various food items, including meat, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks, and seasonings, all prepared within a specific station. This position is crucial in ensuring that all food prepared meets Hilton's high standards of consistency and presentation.
The Cook II will engage in preparing station-specific food items according to set recipes, monitoring product storage and portion sizes, maintaining cleanliness in compliance with Health Department regulations, and ensuring all equipment is clean and operational. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to hygiene and sanitation practices. Additionally, the Cook II manages station setup, breakdown, and prep work, ensuring seamless kitchen operations during their shifts. The position not only demands technical culinary skills but also the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with varying schedules including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
For those seeking career growth within the hospitality industry, the Hilton Milwaukee provides an ideal environment. Being part of the Marcus Hotels & Resorts family, employees enjoy opportunities for career advancement and transfers between properties while maintaining their service continuity within the company. The position also offers competitive benefits such as free meals during shifts, room discounts, special access to recreational and entertainment offerings, early wage access, paid time off, and comprehensive health insurance options after a qualifying period.
