The Cook II position is integral to the culinary operations of the hotel, where the successful candidate collaborates with a rock-star team of culinary professionals to prepare a wide variety of dishes utilizing advanced techniques such as braising, grilling, broiling, blanching, and sautéing. This role expects professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures, with the ability to operate independently at single-station kitchen positions. The Cook II will be involved in assessing the quality of finished food products and ensuring the consistency and efficiency of food preparation practices daily. Additional responsibilities include receiving products from the storeroom and actively supporting Cook I personnel in their training and development. Job Requirements
- at least 2 years of kitchen experience
- texas food handlers certification
- ability to stand for long periods
- availability to work weekends and holidays
- ability to follow instructions and work under moderate supervision
- strong communication skills
- physical stamina to perform kitchen duties
Job Qualifications
- at least 2 years experience working in various kitchens such as garde manger cold kitchen, hot side banquet kitchen, 3-meal restaurants, pastry kitchen and butcher area strongly desired
- hotel cooking experience and/or culinary degree preferred
- ability to stand for long periods
- requires moderate supervision and training
- texas food handlers certification required
- flexibility to work any days of the week including weekends and holidays
