The Cook II position at Seattle Children’s is designed for an experienced culinary professional responsible for preparing food products using both basic and advanced cooking techniques while adhering to standard recipes and plating guidelines. This role plays a crucial part in meeting production schedules in accordance with stringent health, safety, and sanitary procedures. The Cook II ensures proper production, storage, and utilization of food and supplies within the kitchen, serving patients, families, and staff effectively and efficiently. Maintaining organization and cleanliness in the kitchen work areas and equipment throughout the shift is a key responsibility. The Cook II also actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives, recipe and menu development, and culinary showcases, emphasizing creativity and quality in their work.

This full-time role offers an hourly wage ranging from $23.15 to $34.73, with actual compensation determined by expertise, skills, and experience. Applicants should possess at least four years of professional food production experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional preferred qualifications include a culinary degree or formal apprenticeship and experience working in catering, hotel, or hospital food production settings. The position requires obtaining a Washington State Food and Beverage Service Worker’s Permit within 15 days of employment.
