They emphasize a balanced work-life experience and provide comprehensive benefits packages to ensure staff satisfaction and professional growth.
The Cook 2 position at Westminster Canterbury is a unique opportunity for an experienced line cook who thrives in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is based in a new restaurant concept that features seasonal chef-driven menus, encouraging creativity and culinary innovation. Working closely with the Executive Chef and sous chefs, the Cook 2 will prepare and produce food items by strictly following the established menu or recipes, with a keen emphasis on health, nutrition, and quality. The role requires hands-on involvement in daily kitchen operations, including helping to develop specials and new menu items, which fosters creativity and career development for candidates who strive to excel.
This full-time position offers a competitive pay range from $17.03 to $21.58 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity. In addition to a generous salary, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, vision, dental, and life insurance, as well as 403B retirement savings plans with company match. Full- and part-time employees alike can earn paid time off, benefit from an employee assistance program, and enjoy amenities such as fitness classes, day care with school-age virtual learning support, and tuition reimbursement programs.
The role involves preparing and producing food items, ensuring sanitation standards are met, managing supplies, and participating in trainings to comply with state regulations. The Cook 2 will use various kitchen equipment such as grills and fryers and must possess physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stand for 4 to 6 hours, and work in extreme temperature conditions. The ideal candidate is a motivated team player who manages multiple priorities while maintaining composure under pressure and delivering excellent customer service. Offering both personal satisfaction and professional growth, this position is designed for culinary professionals who wish to advance their careers within a supportive and dynamic food service environment.
