The role available at Sear + Sea Restaurant is a full-time, non-management position that offers an hourly pay rate of $26.10. This position provides a hands-on opportunity to contribute directly to the kitchen's efficiency and culinary output. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing all ingredients for cooking, ensuring that every dish meets the highest quality and presentation standards. This includes portioning, chopping, and storing food, as well as washing and peeling fresh produce. The role demands proficiency in operating cooking appliances such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, combined with the ability to test and monitor food quality throughout the preparation process.

Attention to detail is paramount, as the position requires strict adherence to recipes, food safety standards, and company policies. Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, workstations, and equipment is essential, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment. The ideal candidate must be able to multitask efficiently, set up and break down workstations, and coordinate with team members to uphold the restaurant's commitment to excellent service and quality. The position also requires physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderately heavy items throughout the work shift. Job Requirements

  • at least 1 year of related work experience
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • ability to stand walk bend and lift for extended periods
  • good communication skills
  • ability to follow detailed instructions
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation
  • no supervisory experience
  • willingness to perform additional duties as requested

Job Duties

  • prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning chopping and storing food
  • wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
  • weigh measure and mix ingredients
  • prepare and cook food according to recipes quality standards presentation standards and food preparation checklist
  • prepare cold foods
  • operate ovens stoves grills microwaves and fryers
  • test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
