Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years culinary experience in a similar role preferably in a high volume luxury hotel or restaurant with scratch-cooking environment
  • must be able to communicate in English
  • must be able to read and follow recipes
  • must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations
  • must possess extensive sanitation and culinary knowledge
  • must have accurate knife skills
  • ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
  • ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • must obtain and maintain any required licensing or active work cards
  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • must have valid health card

Job Duties

  • Responsible for preparing and finishing foods on all stations within the kitchen
  • meet quality standards as well as maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards
  • assist the Chef de Partie and Chef as needed in execution of production
  • properly label and date all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation
  • apply adept knife skills required for preparation
  • breakdown work station and complete closing duties including returning all food items to proper storage areas, rotating all returned product, wrapping, covering, labeling, and dating all items being put away, straightening up and organizing all storage areas, cleaning up and wiping down food prep area, reach-in and walk-ins
  • maintain accurate inventories while informing management of restocking needs to prevent product shortages
  • notify chef on duty prior to end of shift if unable to complete assigned tasks within allotted time
